A bumper is usually a rubber
part that is adhered to a surface to prevent light contact between
two parts. By stopping the contact of the parts, the wear and tear
on the equipment is reduced and will often lead to lower required
maintenance and reduced noise. They can range from a simple piece
of sheet stock to a kiss-cut
shape to an extruded
profile or even a complex injection
moulded part.
