Equipment Parts from HDPE Plastic Sheet

Industrial plastic sheets, rods, tubes and components are used in a variety of heavy equipment for wear-resistant and impact-resistant components. At Canada Rubber Group Inc. (CRGI), we often use plastic materials in sheet form, such as HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), UHMW, and others to make parts such as chutes and chute liners, equipment parts, bin and shaft liners, bumpers, rails, scrapers, and more.

HDPE sheet is sometimes known as arena board, or puck board, due to its widespread use as boarding around hockey rinks. It is made of extruded HDPE copolymer. HDPE combines extremely high impact strength with resistance to UV, moisture, and staining. Equipment parts made from HDPE plastic sheet are extremely tough and wear resistant, standing up well to abrasion, corrosion and impact.

At CRGI, we have fabricated wear resistant equipment parts from HDPE plastic sheet for a variety of applications. These include cut and machined parts for aggregates equipment, general industrial uses, and specialized equipment and machinery.

About HDPE Plastic Sheet

First introduced in the 1930s, HDPE first found application in high-frequency radar cables during World War II. This gave rise to commercial production of the materials. HDPE is very rigid material, with a high density-to-strength ratio. HDPE sheet can be formed by a wide variety of thermoplastic processing methods and the material is particularly useful in applications where wear and moisture resistance are required.

Advantages of HDPE sheet include the following:

  • Impact resistant from -40° C to 90° C

  • Moisture and corrosion resistance

  • Low coefficient of friction

  • Superior tensile strength

  • Good chemical resistance

  • Food grades available

CRGI Equipment Parts from HDPE Plastic Sheet

Equipment parts from HDPE plastic sheet made by CRGI are offered in a variety of thicknesses and colours. Parts are produced to order and prototyping is available. All parts are produced using the latest cutting technologies, including waterjet cutting.

CRGI can produce HDPE parts in a variety of shapes, from the simple to the complex, and in a variety of sizes, from the very small to the very large. We can handle part quantities in both small and large runs. In every order, we bring our extensive fabrication experience to bear to ensure your complete satisfaction.
