Since our inception, CRG has utilized its engineering and manufacturing expertise and capabilities to supply high-quality custom extrusions for automotive and industrial applications. These products are engineered and manufactured to each customer’s requirements and meet exacting tolerances and specifications.
What are Custom Extrusions?
Custom fabricated extrusions are produced through a production process that forces, or pushes, material through a die (or series of dies) to create a finished part or profile with a specific shape of constant cross-section. Extrusions can be thick or thin and may consist of either solid or hollow cores.
What are the Advantages of Extrusion as a Production Process?
Advantages of producing parts and profiles by extrusion are the following:
Ability to create parts and profiles with complex cross-sections.
Superior surface finish with no mold flash, pitting, or voiding, eliminating the need for secondary operations.
Lower tooling cost versus other production methods.
Less material waste.
What types of Custom Extrusions does CRG Supply?
CRG supplies a variety of custom extrusions for industrial and automotive applications. Examples of custom extruded parts and components we have supplied include the following:
Hood and trunk seals
Extrusion profiles, in O, D, Square, U-Channel, or rectangular configurations.
Custom extrusions from CRG can be supplied with or without adhesive (PSA) backing. CRG custom extrusions can be supplied in bulk quantities, cut-to-length, or cord-coiled or spooled.
What Materials does CRG use to Produce Custom Extrusions?
CRG works with a variety of standard and advanced materials to produce custom extruded parts and profiles. Examples of materials we work with include elastomers such as EPDM, Nitrile, Neoprene, Silicone, Viton®, and others. We have access to wide variety of compounds that meet or exceed standards and specifications set by the FDA, ASTM, UL, NSF, Military and other organizations.
How can CRG Work with me to Supply Custom Extrusions?
CRG can provide a full spectrum of supply services, from application design engineering assistance, to material selection, prototyping, and final part production.
For automotive applications, CRG can supply custom extrusions which meet ASTM D2000 line call-outs, as well as the material specifications of major OEM’s, including those of General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Mazda, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz.
