EPDM Rubber Rolls

compound that CRG often uses to produce parts for a variety of applications is EPDM rubber. EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber is a very versatile synthetic rubber compound with a broad range of uses in industrial and automotive applications.

An outstanding characteristic of EPDM rubber is the material’s resistance to ozone, heat, and weathering. These properties make it an excellent material choice for parts for applications where exposure to the elements is a real concern. EPDM rubber exhibits good resistance to ketones, ordinary dilute acids, and alkalies. However, the material is not compatible with most oils, gasoline, kerosene, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, halogenated solvents, and concentrated acids.

EPDM rubber also has excellent electrical insulating properties. This makes the material a good choice for electrical insulating matting in certain applications. EPDM rubber also exhibits good resistance to creep and flow and is a good material choice where these characteristics need to be addressed in end use.

CRGI maintains an extensive inventory of EPDM rolls, in both solid rubber and cellular material. While many customers come to us for EPDM finished parts, we also supply EPDM rubber rolls to other manufacturers under supply arrangements. By way of example, we have a supply arrangement for the provision of EPDM 70 durometer in roll form, in 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, and 2.0 mm thicknesses, which fully conforms to Honda specification HES C201-06 A-I-7007. As with all the EPDM rubber styles which we stock, we are happy to make this material available to other buyers should the need arise.

Finished parts from EPDM rubber rolls that CRG can supply includes the following:

  • Seals and gaskets for industrial and automotive applications. CRGI supplies a wide range of automotive sealing products from EPDM rubber and closed and open cell sponge. These include seals for vehicle doors, windows, hoods and trunks. Where required, these seals can be coated to reduce the incidence of noise arising from friction and freezing due to ice and snow.

  • Molded parts for automotive applications. In addition to vehicle seals, CRGI can also supply a wide variety of EPDM molded or fabricated parts for automotive applications. These include grommets, pedal pads, and more.

  • Gaskets for fluid sealing and industrial applications. CRGI has extensive experience in producing EPDM gaskets for fluid sealing and general industrial use. These gaskets can be custom fabricated to specific customer requirements using the latest cutting and fabrication technologies.

  • Mechanical rubber parts. We specialize in the fabrication of EPDM rubber mechanical parts, including parts for industrial, agricultural and construction machinery and equipment, isolating pads, membranes, diaphragms, sleeves and boots, and wear parts.
