American Biltrite AB-576 EPDM sheet complies with the requirement of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), as well as being certified to the NSF 61-2013 standard.
The AWWA C111/A21.11 standard provides the minimum requirements for rubber-gasket joints for ductile-iron pressure pipe and ductile-iron and gray-iron fittings, including requirements and inspection.The NSF/ANSI 61 standard establishes minimum criteria for impurities and contaminants that may be released indirectly into drinking water from products, components and materials, including joining and sealing materials such as gaskets and seals.

Buyers are now seeking gaskets produced from materials that satisfy the requirements of both AWWA C111/A21.11, as well as NSF 61. Gaskets and seals produced from AB-576 sheet will meet all your water sealing needs. Made from EPDM polymer, products fabricated from AB-576 sheet will service a temperature range from -40°F (-40°C) to 275°F (135°C). The sheet has a maximum pressure rating of 250 psig (17 bar). One of the most important properties of AB-576 sheet is its ability to resist compression set – this sheet exhibits optimum compression set values of 20% maximum for 22 hours at 70°C.
Gaskets, seals and parts produced from AB-576 sheet have outstanding resistance to heat, ozone and sunlight, with superior resistance to water and steam and good flexibility at low temperatures.
