Snow plow rubber deflector strips from CRG
Rubber deflector strips improve the efficiency of a snow plow blade. These strips, mounted onto the top surface of a plow, prevent snow from spilling over the top of the blade, resulting in more complete clearing with less residual snow.
CRG offers snow plow deflector strips made from two types of rubber compounds: heavy-duty rubber belting; or, for those customers who prefer an application-specific compound, we use a high-tensile, abrasion-resistant compound specially formulated for this type of application.
CRG deflector strips maintain their flexibility in cold weather without cracking or becoming brittle. The proven quality of our deflector strips can save fleet operators time and money through lessened downtime and less frequent replacement.
CRG manufactures rubber deflector strips to each customer’s specific requirements, tailoring them to fit almost any plow blade size or configuration. If desired, we can imprint your company name and logo onto our deflector strips.
Snow plow rubber cutting edges from CRG
Rubber cutting edges are an innovation that improves road clearing and pavement preservation. Functioning like a squeegee, a plow blade equipped with a rubber cutting edge gently clears away more snow, slush, and moisture from the road surface than a steel blade. Since the rubber cutting edge leaves behind less residual moisture, the risk of icing is reduced, thus creating a safer roadway after plowing.
CRG rubber cutting edges are manufactured using a rubber compound specially formulated for its flexibility and toughness. These flexible cutting edges readily adapt to irregularities in the road surface, virtually eliminating pavement gouging or chipping, as well as damage to the plow blade itself.
The rubber compound we use to manufacture these cutting edges is designed to resist abrasion, tearing and shredding. It has a high tensile strength of 2,500 psi (pounds per square inch) minimum and a tear resistance of 504 ppi (pounds per inch). Our cutting edges will service operating temperatures down to -40°C without becoming brittle.
CRG custom manufactures rubber cutting edges to fit on any type of plow blade, including straight plows, V-plows, Jeep-type plows, under-mounted plows and scraper blades. Each cutting edge comes provided with slots which permit easy installation and adjustment.
CRG rubber cutting edges are available in a variety of lengths and three standard widths:
12 inch width – suitable for V-plows
10 inch width – front-mounted plows
8 inch width – underbody-mounted plows and graders
